No Rest for the Wicked

A forebodingly romantic folk horror.

In the 19th century Faroe Islands, young Baldur leads a quiet, solitary life as a fisherman and the sole provider for himself and his widowed mother. He does nothing to stand apart from their isolated, conservatively religious community until the appearance of ruggedly handsome whaler Helge awakens emotions in Baldur he’s never felt before.

Their mutual attraction turns to illicit romance as their relationship brings some much longed for excitement into Baldur’s life, and with it the hope for an adventure that might finally break him free from an oppressive existence. Then tragedy strikes, and Baldur turns to unnatural and dark methods to prove the bond formed between them can endure through anything. Maybe even transcending the boundaries of life itself.
