The Peril at Pincer Point
A whimsically comedic nautical adventure.
Eager to prove himself professionally, a bumbling ambitious sound recordist sets off to the remote island of Pincer Point to find the perfect sound for the final act of his tyrannical director’s latest feature. What he finds when he gets there is a lot of crabs and an eccentric collection of locals who tell tale of a mysterious pirate who stalks the nearby shores collecting unwitting souls to crew his spectral ship on an eternal voyage from which there is no return.
With dreamlike black-and-white photography and a handmade aesthetic that feels like Hundreds of Beavers by way of Guy Maddin, The Peril and Pincer Point is an eccentric, improvisational love letter to classic B-movie filmmaking. More details & tickets
